Hi Folks,

Will cover a couple of projects in this update as things are getting back on track.

Solemn Vale

Some layout highlights

• The core book is coming along great with more chapters being marked COMPLETE.
• All files are either having their final editing pass done or the editing pass has been completed.
• All of the 216 Stage Cards have been made print ready.
• Final page count on Solemn Vale core looks to be 352.
• Final page count on Wyrd Tales (A PDF containing 8 story modules) 128.

Each week I continue to make huge steps in getting the game finished and out to backers. Hopefully the trend continues and the PDF goes out soon and we can get this project off to the printers.

Deckades: Jazz Era Story Prompts

There are a total of 324 prompt cards included in our Decakdes: Jazz Era boxed set spread over 6 Decks covering 54 Antagonists, 54 Characters, 54 Encounters, 54 Locations, 54 Story Hooks and 54 Valuables. A great tool for any storyteller to add some spice to their stories or ttRPGs like Call of Cthulhu.

Also included are 8 custom dice and a Chronicles booklet. The Chronicles booklet will provide a selection of story modules utilizing the cards from the deck plus house rules for resolving actions/scenes/conflicts using the custom dice included (Fate style -- ++ blank blank). 

This project was written and completed almost a year ago but has been kept on hold till further progress was made on Solemn Vale. Now the finish line is in sight for Solemn Vale, I'm getting the ball rolling on this again. That said, this is being done as a low pressure side angle for now as Solemn Vale takes priority over all projects.

The plan will be to release the crowdfunding project once the Solemn Vale PDFs have been sent out to backers. No release date has been determined.

The release platform has still to be established but there are more and more options available such as Gamefound, BackerKit Crowdfunding and Indiegogo to name a few, so I'll be doing some deep dives on which best suits my company's needs going forward.

Hi Folks,

Short but positive update for this week.

The book is almost done < WooHoo!!!

Still a few more weeks to go before it's done and I'm not committing to a definitive date (still trying to keep the stress low) but the finish line is there and I can see it. The final page count is sitting at 352 at 6" x 9" so it'll be a small, but quite hefty wee book.

Once the PDF is ready I'll be sending it out to backers and we'll have a few weeks to let the dust settle and collect feedback on errors and such. During that time I'll be working to finish off all the other content, which shouldn't take too long as it's all been drafted and just needs tweaks and final assets.

Another sample spread below from the Police Station spread in the "Heart of the Rustic Town" chapter written by Hilary Sklar.

Heat wave here in Southern California and WoWzA!!! This wee Scotsman is pure meltin :)

Progress has been going great on Solemn Vale and we're getting closer to getting that PDF out.  Still keeping it low pressure so I'll avoid putting a deadline on that... but it's close

Today we have a couple of characters from the core book to share.

Hi Folks,

Checking in with an update for this month even though it's a short one.

Had a few weeks off from all things work related and it's helped tremendously. Batteries fully recharged. I'm back working my way through pending art assets so that's all for this week's update.

Indie Creator Highlight

Frequent Dirty Vortex contributor, Cat Evans (Ex Stasis Games), is running a KS right now that is just about funded and has 30+ hours to go. As an indie creator I try to boost the signal where possible. Check out their zombie outbreak ttRPG KS linked below.

Hi Folks,

Another short one but just to let everyone know that things are moving along steadily on the project... slowly, but progress is being made.

I just finished up the story module "The Crisis of Father Aloysius" from project developer, Matthew 'Badger's Stump' Dawkins, and you can see the chapter intro spread below.

As far as mental health goes, I've cut back on pretty much ALL other projects and focusing most of my energy into Solemn Vale again. I'm getting back into a much better head space so I hope that it continues. Things are looking a lot brighter. YaY! That, for sure, is a big win for me.
