Hi Folks,
We're almost there on the core book as we dial in on the remaining artwork. ย We plan on having the ashcan version available next week. ย The ashcan will be the final text layout with all the line editing applied but minus art and graphic design so that we can have folks start reviewing the core book for errata and such ASAP.ย
Some key points for this week's update
ย Solemn Vale: We're making steady progress and on track to hit a November-2021 PDF delivery date
ย Summer of Strange: Pre-orders will open Nov-08-2021. ย Summer of Strange uses the same system as Solemn Vale aka the Wyrd Abacus. ย A 112, 6"x9" book that is jammed full of content from Story Hooks, Locations, NPCs. ย We'll be sure to let folks know when the pre-orders open. ย Pre-orders are purely to gauge demand and credit cards won't be charged till within a couple of weeks of shipping. ย Estimated Shipping date will be in April-2022
We are a small indie publisher trying to get our games made and into as many hands as possible. ย With that said, some of our books won't be available directly outside the US of A straight away. ย This will be the case with our smaller products like Summer of Strange which we'll be printing locally here in the USA for the first run. ย If things go according to plan we'll include an additional print run when we do the full Solemn Vale print next year. ย This will allow us to get units easier into the EU and Rest of World.

Hi Folk,
We've been mentioning Summer of Strange on and off in the updates. ย A horror anthology series that uses the Wyrd Abacus as the core system. ย
It's a shorter product that was designed as a way for folks get into the Wyrd Abacus and start telling stories while work on Solemn Vale continues. ย The ashcan version is priced $1 and has the core Wyrd rules, story hooks and a sample story module over 66 pages. ย We'll be making adjustments to the SoS ashcan as we ramp up to final version release which will be in the 112 page range. ย The final version will introduce Northbrook, the town where events unfold, but it will be the basis for a multitude of stories told within the extended Solemn Vale universe. ย It'll also include 4 story modules, 30+ story hooks, town locations, antagonists and some Wyrd Ones.
We will be looking to do more of these ashcan editions on some games such as The Operating System used in The Sigma Syndrome getting a similar treatment.ย
Itโs 1985, and summer is almost here. Everything should be normal: time at the pool, hanging out with friends at the mall, babysitting jobs, the bummer of summer school.ย

There is something strange in the air, you canโt quite put your finger on it, but itโs there, like an unseen gaze boring into the back of your neck. There are disturbing rumors whispered in the hallways and even weirder stuff on the evening news. Stuff about disappearances, cults, ritual killings, vanished towns and the world on the verge of a cataclysmic nuclear war
There are rumors around town, scary stuff. Escaped prisoners and mental patients, weird religions popping up in peopleโs basements, secret government projects going on in the woods outside of town. Mass hysteria. You should be getting ready for the fourth of July, fireworks and cook outs, but the weirdness is all around you. You donโt know it yet, but normalโs over and this is the last carefree summer youโll ever know.

This week's update is relatively low key. ย Lots of artwork in progress for Solemn Vale and quite a lot of production back end stuff going on for a few of our various projects.
Some key points for this week's update
Solemn Vale: We're making steady progress and on track to hit a November-2021 PDF delivery date
Summer of Strange: Hitting Halloween might be tough but we'll be releasing it as soon as we can. ย We'll have a free version of the PDF but we'll be printing a short physical run of these books also
The Sigma Syndrome: Folks are very much enjoying the setting and the rules during playtesting.
Deco Dice Season 2 & Deckades: We'll be combining pre-orders for Deco Dice Season 2 and the first boxed set of Deckades: Story prompts for Jazz Era Games. ย

We're still on track to hit a November-2021 PDF delivery date.
LARP rules will be made available for free over on the Dirty Vortex Itch site
Outlining a new creature supplement for Solemn Vale and the wider Sigma World
Virtual Tabletop in development so folks can play with the required tools directly via web browser
General VTT. ย Will eventually get our content on the various other VTTs out there. ย WIP
Summer of Strange = Currently in art and layout.
SoS is the beginning of a new horror anthology series that takes place during the summer of 1985. ย It uses the Wyrd Abacus, the same system as Solemn Vale. ย It doubles as the start of a new line but also a free introduction into the Wyrd Abacus rules and the stories that can be told.
Our plan is to launch in time for Halloween.

The Sigma Syndrome = Writing complete and in art and Layout. ย
Psychic warfare is all the rage in The Sigma Syndrome. ย The Sigma Syndrome uses a different system than Solemn Vale and SoS, it uses the OS aka the Operating System. ย It's a bit crunchy but more traditional ttRPG character sheet driven. ย We'll also be releasing a free version of these rules next week that will also support an ongoing neo-noir anthology series, Lost Vegas.
Playtesting started, if interested in taking part, join up to our playtest group.
This title will likely be our next ttRPG project on KS.
Deckades = Writing complete
A new digital product we just released over on itch. ย ย 270 support cards for your Jazz Era or Noir based RPG. ย The free sample set includes 54 cards with 9 cards per sheet. ย The sample deck also includes 9 Story Hooks that will be part of the physical print set.
